That would be a very interesting coprolite. The spiral pattern is very uniform and tight. I'm used to seeing the pattern not as uniform or as tight. Both sharks with a spiral valve and a number of genus of fish can produce coprolites with the spiral pattern.

Here are a couple of coprolites with a loose pattern:

This one has a tighter pattern and is more uniform but still not as tight and uniform as yours.

Thanks a lot guys. I was thinking coprolite because it looks so similar to the one in the North Sulphur book.

Yes, it is coprolite. I have several that look very similar. They are pretty cool if you ask me.

Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!

Thanks I like them too. I don't find them too often but the variety is neat.

Warning: Here I come again with some pedantry. Although a shark is of course the most likely candidate for the GORGEOUS coprolite, spiral coprolites are expected for ANY non-teleost fishes: sharks, rays, sawfishes, chimaeras, amiids, sturgeons, paddlefish, coelacanths, lungfish, and gars.

What Carl said!  What a beautiful coprolite! No & So Sulphur Rivers seem to have the most pristine spirals.
