Mahnmut
Hello together, on my search for cetacean references I stumbled upon the smithsonians x3d-site and this fossil dolphin. As my local hobby market offers 3d-prints, I decided to make a little detour from my Archelon (only 85 digitals to go) and Whale project and have one printed. The image shows the print as it came out of the printer, after a first cleanup and after painting. 40% original size was the biggest they could make in one go. Cheers, Jan Source http://newsdesk.si.edu/photos/fossil-dolphin-skull-and-jaws http://3d.si.edu/browser Result: Try to learn something about everything and everything about something Thomas Henry Huxley

Mahnmut
New print from the same source https://3d.si.edu/model/fullscreen/p1b-1474716020541-1478115462584-0 Odobenocetops! I planned to reconstruct all missing parts but stoped after the tusks because anything postcranial would become even more speculative than the missing skullparts. I´ll leave it asa fossil replica rather than a recontruction. Painting will follow.
