I brought home a bucket of gravel from Post oak creek in Sherman Tx. to sift through, and came across this beauty.

The size is approx. 1.5 to 2 mm.

I don't think it's a tooth, per se. It looks more like a dermal denticle, a tooth-like scale from a shark or (more likely) some species of ray.
