Looking for Utah FF members

old dead things

Recommended Posts

A few years back when I listed all my shows, I invited all forum members to stop by and visit, a few showed up. The next year I personally invited members to each show, a few less showed up, then I offered a huge discount to FF members and less attended, then I warned all members to stay away from my shows (tongue in cheek), a few more came. A week after a show in New Mexico, there was a post asking why there weren't any shows in New Mexico :P .

So, all that said, Old Dead Things will have table space at the Gem, Mineral and Fossil show at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park and Events Center on May 13-15, located at 2100 West 11400 South, in South Jordan. It is the 70th anniversary of the Wasatch Gem Society. I hope I get to use my camera to take pictures of FF members with me to post when I get home. :)

Wish I had one of these, but I don't, but I have plenty of ammonites...

UtahFossilHunter and several of his siblings stopped by to see me at the South Jordan Rock, Fossil and Mineral show. I enjoyed visiting with him. Others told me they'd be there, but didn't see anyone else. Anyone in the area at doesn't go to this show missed out on some great deals and lots of information.

This is the only photo I had taken. I was busy most of the show.

This was my first show and I am thoroughly impressed on how awesome these are. Jim and I had a good time talking. Here's a few of the treasures I had picked up while there.post-15927-0-38762300-1463518559_thumb.jpg The larger two shark teeth are from Jim which he graciously gave me a large discount on and I believe they were from Argentina. :P The far left is a slab of dinosaur bone found in the Morrison formation. Next to that is a polished Amethyst. On the far right is another shark tooth and an obsidian arrowhead. If someone could ID the shark teeth for me that would be awesome!

Turn out in South Jordan of FF members, well, one to stop by the booth. Maybe there will be a few more at the Price, Utah show June 3 and 4. At the Carbon County Events Center.

Hi Jim,

I am in Europe now, but I am planning on moving to Utah as I have family there. So, when I do, I'll be sure to catch up with you at a show at some point.

Zekky stopped by the Price, Utah fossil and rock show for a visit. Two Utah shows and only two FF members, I guess I always thought there were more Utah members on the FF.

Jim and Zekky discussing fried fish.

Next up for me, the Wyoming State Fossil, Rock and Mineral show at the fairgrounds in Torrington, Wyoming, June 25-26.
