Thank you everyone, I truly have found a deep passion. I cannot wait for my weekends. It is a great motivator as well during the week to stay active. I am glad you all are enjoying the posts!

I know what you mean about not waiting for the weekends. I can barely sleep the night before I head out. Looks like your having some stellar luck. Those teeth are beauties!

I developed a sinus infection and I haven't been able to get out for the past week and half; it's been killing me! I am going out this Friday, so hopefully I will have some treasures to share with you all then!

Lynn88, the best advice I can give is what I do myself. I spend hours on Google maps and Google satellite and follow rivers/creeks and see where I believe it could be deep cut enough to allow layer to show. I mostly prefer water/creek sites but I do scout some land sites here and there. The advice I was first given for the Lowcountry area was to look about 20 miles radius from the coast, such as Ladson, Summerville, Goose Creek etc. It is such a hit and miss game. I find spots that I think will be great and then find nothing! And then, I find spots by accident on the way to the spots I thought I was going to! To add, sometimes gravel beds/phosphate rock will be scattered about an area, so you may not see a spot right off but a few feet down there could be a nice big bed. Good luck!

Happy shark week everyone!

The past few weeks hunts: several C. angustidens (very beautiful colours from my new site), makos, I. desori, great whites, tigers, hemi's, megalodon, lemon, sand, turtle shell, another whale bulla piece, odontocete teeth, a large alligator tooth or sperm whale fragment?, possible squalicorax teeth, various bones.

I found my first Benedini today!!!! Another great day in my favourite creek. A nice mammal tooth, still trying to figure out if it's three-toed horse, camel or bison fragment.

I thought I see a small burlette on top of the enamel and the hook is more than any of my other makos, however, the root is so damaged. I'm now thinking the tooth could be Isurus planus.

Those are great finds! I really like that small angustidens. I need to get back down that way!

As far as I know C. planus is only found in the Pacific. So that most likely crosses that out. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with P. benedini, although it does look like it!

What a great haul. I'm not 100% sure I see a bennie there. The blade seems a little thin and the root seems a little small. maybe some lateral pics and some close ups would help the ID. Either way, it's a great haul. you've certainly got some nice spots and you're pulling beautiful teeth. Keep the pictures coming!

I have been very busy with my Ph.D. school work, however, I thought I'd post what I've been able to find in my small trips here and there the last few months.  Also, some better photographs of a few teeth I have already posted on this thread for appreciation of colour and detail!

First trip out since the heavy rains here and I got extremely lucky!  Two amazing finds.  Firstly, I came across a set of associated vertebrae (I ended up finding 12) and then I saw a tooth tip sticking out and pulled out the largest and most beautiful C. megalodon I've ever found.  The tooth measured a bit over 5 inches without the root in tact.  Also found some really nice large bone.  I hope you enjoy!  I'm going back out to my other sites this weekend, so I'll be posting updates later!

Wow, you have a beautiful collection! This is my first post here. I've been keeping up with your posts and decided to finally join the forum. My brother and I are going to be scouting some locations near the SC coast to do some shark teeth hunting soon. We've found some nice small teeth around Folly Beach but we're hoping to find some bigger/nicer teeth for our collections.

Thank you everyone, I'm really glad you enjoy the posts.  This is my last trip I got to quickly take on Wednesday.  School has been very busy but I needed a break and I am so glad I took it!  I found a pristine Isurus retroflexus with amazing colour and a huge odontocete tooth.  It's the biggest one I've found and it has the whole root!  Plus it is absolutely gorgeous!

Okay, finally an update.  Several hunting trips here.  School has been extremely taxing, however, I have managed to get out a few times.
