nyuszimama
Hello, I'm very new on this forum. I promise not to share anything I find interesting, but this snakeskin-like stone with a completely different stone in the inside looks like an egg for me. I found this in England by the river Trent, but I think it isn't the original place, because the riverbank has been reinforced. So this could come from a different part of England. If it isn't a fossil, sorry about it, but still would like to know what it is. Thank you for every answer.
Vieira
To me it is geologic and not a fossil.
Manticocerasman
It looks like a weathered and roled piece of flint. 1 growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
Fossildude19
I agree - no egg shell texture. Looks like Kevin said - rolled and weathered flint. Many people are fooled by egg shaped rocks - we have a few a week posted here. Still a cool rock, though. nyuszimama
Thank you very much your answers. I believe you. Just this crystally snake pattern made me hoping something . But it's a cool rock, as Tim said. And I already found real fossils, Devil's Toenails ( grypaea ) in Yorkshire. Cheers, Beatrix
abyssunder
It reminds me of a Septarian Nodule. https://www.google.com/search?q=septarian+nodule&biw=1360&bih=612&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwjoqc6tiPXMAhUkJ8AKHTnJDBwQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=_ 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Guguita2104
Welcome to TFF ! IMO, it's geological in origin, not organic. Regards,
JohnBrewer
Welcome to the board. Cool rock. I wonder what it would look like polished up. John Map of UK fossil sites
