got this slab of fossilies here

theres plenty of crinoid, but also some other little peices. they look to me like the front shape of a trilobite. there are no other trilobite signs on the slab other than these. am i correct in saying these are the front peices of trilobites? just asking for future finds. thanks! :D

Yup, Flexicalymene segments, most likely. I see a couple of other bits that look like small pieces of trilo segment as well as the cross-sectional ones.

Yes, ... they are pleural segments of the thorax.

I agree, classic cross section of a trilo. If you want to further uncover this bug and prep it i would highly recommend stabilizing it first.

The pleural are single segments that are sitting on their side. I do not believe that there is more of the trilobite under the surface.

Yeah, it's very common in Cincinnatian type rocks to see individual disarticulated trilo segments everywhere.

I love a good crinoid stem segment plate especially when there is a wide range of species. Ynot and Prem are dead on in regards for further prep and segmented disarticulated trilobites. It can be maddening splitting shale and only finding fragments of thoracic segments. Great find. Thanks for sharing!

Best regards,

Paul
