Hi, new here and wanted to show members some of the Brooksella's i have found on my property in NE Alabam.

I have been finding them wash up on my private drive for 10 years theses are from the past 3 years. I really dont do anything but walk the road a couple times a mounth and pick them up. Have many more stored. will get them out one day and show them. I have also found other things, not sure what some of them are, but will post in id thread soon.

I think so just became an empty nester and now i have time to study them and learn about them, would love to hear from members about them. :D

I believe they were originally interpreted to be jellyfish, or jellyfish impressions.

I think that has changed now to sponges.

Brooksella is no longer classified as a medusiform trace fossil. Recent research has reassigned it as a siliceous hexactinellid sponge.

Very Cool. You said washed up on your driveway. do they wash out of the drive or is there a creek nearby that they wash out of?

They just wash up no creek near. every time we have a real hard downpour I walk the long drive searching for them.

Found them today they washed up after we had rain for two days
