wrfisherman
I'm a cubmaster for Cub Scouts and a couple of weeks ago, I took my scouts to the North Sulphur River for a fossil experience. We got there and I pulled out some examples of what they could expect to find. Just in case, I gave each scout a bag with a couple of shark teeth, a Baculite, a couple of Annelid Worms, and some Exogyra fragments. That way, just in case they didn't do as well, they could at least go away with something. Had a ball and they all sent pics of some of their finds. I'll add more as they come in (and I'll get around to photographing mine). All in all, though, we found a nice pathologic mosasaur tooth, some Scapanorynchus Texanus teeth, a nice Mosasaur vertebra, loads of fragmented Baculites and lots and lots of "Pretty rocks". Everyone had a ball and of course, the boys turned the trip into a swim party in the shallow water before we left. Here's a link to a drone video from one of my parents. He got some great shots of the river. I'll load pics in additional replies over the next few days below. https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=!AkQWRft-a54Yalk&cid=906835256FAF2BD3&id=906835256FAF2BD3!31321&parId=906835256FAF2BD3!31186&o=OneUp Talk to you soon, M This area dropped off in front of our group. I pulled them off as things were still falling and sure enough, within an hour, it was completely covered by Pleistocene fill from above.
