RJB
About two weeks ago my youngest son went on a fossil hunt and brought back some rather nice big ammo concretions. when we looked at this one which was in two big pieces and a few small pieces, we decided to put it outside. It didn't look like it had too much potential. plus is was all that white powdery bad shell material. Well, today we took another look at it. I decided to go on the attack. It looks purty good now, but belive me, it was in pieces and in bad shape. After some chisel work and lots and lots of glueing putting things back together it started to look purty good. I took off lots of rock. Then my son asked me if I could take off all the powdery white shell and expose the sutures? Well, what a good idea. Most of this ammo is the fragmacone, so I thought "why not". I will have to take a pic of that once I get that done and then a pic of it after its polished or waxed. This thing measures just over 8 inches. Not the biggest for sure, but now looks purty darn cool. It was also in a very odd shaped concretion. Still gots lots of rock to cut off the back end too. RJB
Thanks folks. it took quite a bit of work to get it all back together and only half an hour to finish it up. But wow! RB
