I bought this Spinosaurus tooth off the internet a while ago but I think it may be the base of a large tooth with another tooth stuck on the top. The botom section doesn't line up with the middle section, despite just about all of the original surface being preserved on the bottom section. The ridge lines up on one side, therefore one would expect the rest of the tooth to line up, as most of the outer surface is preserved but this isn't the case. Is it two teeth stuck together? Troodon Posted June 5, 2016 Share Posted June 5, 2016 Two teeth stuck together may be your first reaction but the answer may be simpler. It just may be a very poor repair of a single tooth. Typically when two teeth are put together there is an effort to make them look like one tooth. Not the case here. Would have to hold it to be sure. My reason for thinking its made of two teeth is that if it lines up on one side and almost all of the emamel is still present on the tooth, it should line up on the other side. If the ridge lines up on one side in my opinion all of the rest of the tooth should line up, but there may be a reason why it doesn't.
