This cabinet contains some tremendous memories, as well as specimens.I am quite proud of, and easily mesmerized by, it. INT. Jeffrey P
Really magnificent collection- beautifully displayed. I think you could use a few more ammonites in your display. Seriously that's pretty awesome. Congratulations.
PFOOLEY
Thank you, Jeff, Don and Jeffrey. This small accumulation is the culmination of about eight years of laying down my footprints across the Puerco at every chance I could get. I can still remember my first trips out there...leaving ammoniteless...that hankering to find one... ...my, how far I've come. "I am glad I shall never be young without wild country to be young in. Raggedy Man
Your cabinet reminds me of those antique chemistry/medication/specimen lockups. It definitely adds to the vintage feeling one would have if we could step back in time and visit Cope's or Marshes lab. However, I'm sure your ethical practices are miles above theirs. Lol Thanks for sharing. Best regards, Paul 1 ...I'm back.

jpc
wow.. great collection and great cabineta. I see only two baculites... Do you guys have very few baculites down there, or do you just prefer to focus on 'real' ammonites?

Do you guys have very few baculites down there, or do you just prefer to focus on 'real' ammonites? Thanks, @jpc. I have not found many well preserved baculites. The few I have are from Coniacian and Santonian outcrops while most of my wandering is across Cenomanian and Turonian ground. I have seen some beautiful material from the Lewis Shale (Campanian), but have yet to find any in my (one ) visit. My hope is to collect a representative of each species of ammonite from each zone of each stage of the Upper Cretaceous (WIS) section of New Mexico...and then go from there on what to collect next. That goal should keep me busy. "I am glad I shall never be young without wild country to be young in.
