My Big Tooth

Found in grandpa's attic in a box with a bunch of rocks. I thought it was pretty for a tooth or claw? Any ideas what this could really be? Thanks guys...

It is really a tooth.

edit: Beat on the draw. Yes, it's a partial meg tooth.

This is strange to say the least...

That looks like the internal side of a brachiopod valve (shell), possibly a Strophomenid.

You guys are unbelievable, how the?!? I put every effort into finding the answer and get no where and y'all pop it like corn. I am refusing to post and will fight the urge, that I have, all the time, right now...poof
