caldigger
Unfortunately, the pictures get a bit blurry when enlarging the image and lighting could be a bit brighter (try natural outdoor lighting). Sorry, can't be of much help with the ID.
Peat Burns
Tapir tooth? Or maybe mastodont cusp fragment? Need better photos. Edited July 5, 2016 by Peat Burns
ynot
Different angles of view would help also. Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." ynot
This does resemble a tooth, but I think it is a geologic. But I am not an expert, let Us see what others have to say. Peat Burns
Seeing the new photos, I'm backing out of the tooth camp :-) Kind of reminds me of a "fish ballast" or tilly (hyperostotic) bone. Edited July 6, 2016 by Peat Burns

Shellseeker
Seeing the new photos, I'm backing out of the tooth camp :-) Kind of reminds me of a "fish ballast" or tilly (hyperostotic) bone. I think tilly bone is most likely. They come in many sizes and shapes. I believe the texture matches these two. 2 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

digit
Yup. I was going Tilly bone (hyperostotic). I like the photo setup--not that it is the best for high quality photos but made me snigger when I saw your impromptu smartphone stand and thought "Maxwell Smart"! Five bonus points to those old enough to get that reference. Cheers. -Ken
