JarrodB
Short morning NSR hunt with a fellow TFF member wrfisherman. We had a good time but it was dry and the area had been hunted. I did find a chunk of turtle (protostegid costal), a piece of fish rib, a cool red baculites and a nice piece of rudists. Koldsimer
From daylight until 11:30 for me. Well that would be the smart time to go. When I went on Sunday, I got there at 1:30 and the car said it was 98. When I got back, it read 112 and that was parked in a field. It was a brutal day with almost no shade in the spot I was hunting. I have learned several tricks that help me in that kind of heat. With that being said, I couldn't have lasted that long if the wind wasn't blowing hard like it was Sunday. David E.
Nice finds Jarrod. Yeah, these days my hunts are much shorter as a result of the heat. I was out on the river last Saturday and it was like standing in an oven. I didn't see another person the whole time I was on the river bottom. Clearly I was not the smart one. I walked about 3 miles upstream...errrr...up the dry bottom and I regretted every second of that 3 mile walk back to the car. I usually take my time but there was no time to take. It was miserable. Note to self....if you know that the deepest water you're gonna walk through is ankle deep and there are only little pools of said water....stay home! The NSR right now is the "NO"rth Sulphur River. smt126
Glad to hear you survived the heat. I don't think my kids would last 15 minutes in that kind of heat.
