I was wondering what kind of shark tooth this was. I found it in North Myrtle Beach south Carolina while on vacation post-22308-0-97757800-1472098746_thumb.jpg

There are a few sharks this could belong to. Can you take additional photos that are a bit more focused?

Also, what us the scale of the tooth and are there serrations (doesn't look like it but I am not sure).

My gut right now says it may be a Cretaceous shark as the Cretaceous PeeDee Formation underlies much of that area.

Cropped, enlarged, and brightened.

I am by no means an expert. But that being said the cusp and blade seem to be wider than any of the sand tiger species I am familiar with.

Some patience is required,... Not everyone is on the Forum all the time.

Usually, you need to give it 24-48 hours.

If no one has chimed in by then, feel free to give your thread a bump. ;)

I am thinking it may be a worn and broken Cretolamna appendiculatta.
