Bones in limestone

Bag of bones

This one's a real puzzler... It almost looks like a piece of broken masonry filled in with cement. There are some curious fracture lines running across, in the blank encircled area, and they seem just about to match up to the interstices of the cobbles.

Not that I saw. It was alone on the bank of a wash.  Lots of limestone in the hole area. The Pryor's are basically all limestone.  My brother found a full Dyno within a mile of this piece.  I've only seen pics. Still in the process of getting permission to collect.

I'm not familiar with the fossil of Montana and you can lough at me, but I'm wondering that it couldn't be a caprinoid rudists. Some of the morphologies in transverse view could be related to that (maybe). Just a thought (a possibility?).  http://caribjes.com/CJESpdf/CJES45-06-MitchellCaprinuloideids.pdf

Good observation Kane. I wish I could x-ray this thing and see what's hidden inside.  That would be nice. ;)
