Rockhound Posted August 30, 2016 Share Posted August 30, 2016 I thought this might have some significance. It was found today Northeast Arkansas near Batesville. I showed it to a biologist at a local college and he was stumped, said the skin looks reptilian. It's petrified with the skin intact. It's hard capture any 3D perspective with my camera, especially the area which looks like a toenail, lol. JohnJ Posted August 30, 2016 Share Posted August 30, 2016 It is definitely an iron based mineral specimen. That doesn't mean it would be magnetic. As mentioned, the radiating fracture is diagnostic.
