Haven't been to Post Oak Creek in a couple of months since I have been traveling, but decided to pay it a trip today. The area was well trampled but I found a couple of teeth quickly so I hoped that at least it had not been picked over too badly. Spent a couple of hours and found lots of broken teeth and a couple of really nice examples. The best of the day was inches from a deep footprint so close to being trampled. A complete Cretodus crassidens. It is just shy of two inches and a beaut and one of my best yet.

It pays to have sharper eyes than the previous hunter. ;)

Well done.

Beautiful teeth. Thanks for sharing. Angie, the three things on the right in the last picture are Ptychodus teeth.

Very nice teeth, love the Squalicorax! What are those 3 things on the right side on your last picture?

Ptychodus whipplei teeth. A hybodont shark. Common find for this creek. Found about ten of them this trip. Those three were in the best shape.

That is one great tooth. And the others are all keepers, including that big root without a cusp.  I'll keep partials when they fall into the really big, rare or well preserved category.

Nice finds. I really have to try POC one day.

We will definitely have to do it. Maybe one day when it cools we can hit the sulphur then drive to POC. Good thing with POC is it churns up after every decent rainfall.

I keep unusual partials too especially when they indicate a size larger than anything I'd found before.  I once asked a dealer friend what he wanted for about half of a large Bone Vally Hemipristis.  It would have been at least close to 2 inches when complete.  He just gave it to me.

I'm not really a tooth guy but that Cretodus is a real beauty!

Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

Sounds good buddy. I'm about to be off for 6-7 weeks recovering from surgery so I plan to do quite a bit of hunting lol.

Here is where my partials go. I give a lot away to neighbor kids and as I travel there are people I work with who have kids that appreciate them. Have sent quite a few to the cousins in Sweden as well.
