Beautiful. It looks real although it may have been stabilized or glued as many pieces are.

Your piece has every appearance of a natural ammolite bearing shard. As DPS Ammonite said; many pieces are stabilized. However, in my experience, that is more common in cabochon cut sections intended for jewelry wear. Your specimen seems by the photo to be a more natural, unmodified shell section; as opposed to a flat surfaced cut piece. I will message you the info on a dealer that I have found reliable, who sells only untreated pieces. Unfortunately, I will have to locate the info, so it may take a while.
