FosselDumbDumb
What do you guys think of these manatee teeth? I've looked around online at different pictures and the first one seems a little too perfect.
Cris
They're real. In some sites in Florida, they are a very common find.

Fossildude19
Yes. The only really fake fossils you need to be concerned with are usually coming out of China, and Morocco. Teeth are really not worth faking, with the exception of Megalodon teeth. And then, they are usually part real. Mammal teeth are not really faked, as far as I know. Cris
As common as manatee teeth are, I still love finding them. Here's some from a trip a little while back:
Cris
And yes, what Tim said...Not only would something like this be hard to fake, but they're not worth enough for it to be worth the time.
caldigger
Agreed, manatee teeth are fairly inexpensive. It wouldn't be worth somebody's time to create fakes for such a low return.
sseth
They do look real and are fun to have. _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com
