I know its not much to go on but I was hoping the ridge line in the center might be a tell tale ID feature?  Found along the lower Brazos river.

The bone fragment is a section of a cannon bone.  A cannon bone is comprised of two fused metapodials.  The ridge down the center represents the fused contact of the two bones.  Cannon bones are found in cervids, equids,  bovids, and camelids (and others, no doubt).  Your fragment looks like it might be from a deer or possibly a horse.
