Adding color to bones

Just curious what the general consensus is here for adding color back into specimens that have been faded out. Some of the most common ideas I have heard is furniture polish. I have a hard time believing that there is no company out there that has specific materials for this. I would think that a company like Paleo BOND would have some sort of color products fro people to use. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

  Sincerely, J

Prep people I know use dyes to color bones that have been faded or are two tone.  Most recommend against it because it's difficult to get an exact match or to have it look natural.  I've also seen shoe polish used and the effects were bad.  Once theses products are applied it's hard to get it reversed.

Well that stinks. I appreciate the heads up. That would not be cool to have to try to reverse something like that.
