Found today in Bone Valley area of Florida. The material the tooth is embedded in looks like bone with a barnacle like shape. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Yours must have been a land find.  Almost all the ones from the rivers are black. Fairly common, but yours is very nice with the contrasting unusual colors.

Yep, he is poking around in the phosphate regions of Bone Valley.

And a darned nice one too. Great size and color on that. Wherever you were to find that, I'd consider going back and spending more time there.

Get a load of this stingray dermal denticle! At 1st, I thought it was half a walnut. But I reached down to pick it up. I live on a beach, in Calvert county Maryland, that produces fabulous fossil finds. Shortly after finding this, I found a fossil barb.
