DNF Posted October 10, 2016 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Hey all. I found these pieces in some road fill in White Sulphur Springs, WV. The driver who brought in the fill said it came from a local creek, but I have yet to track down the source. I've only found a handful of pieces of this material. I think it might be quartzite. It is very friable. There are some crinoids and brachiopods in the matrix. I was hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on what these long fossils are. The scale is in inches. Fossildude19 Posted October 10, 2016 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Looks like trilobite pleura to me. (segment of the thorax.) That area has Devonian and Mississippian aged strata. So trilobite is not out of the question.
