larryw
Here is a rock off one beach with a real mixture ! A simple find with lots to see ! There are several small apendages with the largest being in the second pic in the middle right out near the edge. What could it be from in that time period ? There are no shortages of aquatic fossils on the island big and small.. LW Note: The second pic to follow !

Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. I see gastropods, cephalopods, and lots of shells in cross section - but no "appendages". larryw
Look at my second pic at the location I mentioned, just above on the right side of the lower, right brown oval ! This is exactly the professional comments I want from someone with a lot more experience than I ! Give me some time to doctor up a couple of better pics so that what I consider appendages can be confirmed. Sorry for all of this but it's that learning curve ! We all have to start somewhere. Regards, EDIT: All I am really seeing in pic 2 is a bunch of shells, either brachiopods or pelecypods in cross section. It appears this is sort of a coquina, a mixture of shells in matrix that has been water worn, wave tumbled smooth to expose cross sections of all types of shells. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
