xraymike79
I acquired this ammonite recently from a paleontologist in France. Should I use a sealant on it? The other side looks just as impressive.
FossilDAWG
Is it crumbling or threatening to fall apart? If not I would not apply anything to it. It looks great right now, but coating it with anything could make it look too glossy or "fake". Don
PFOOLEY
Nice specimen. "I am glad I shall never be young without wild country to be young in. doushantuo
On a pedantic note: Schluter named this species "Ammonites" nodosoides.Your citation might create confusion. the quotation marks are mine of course

Putting Schluter, 1871 in brackets is the correct way to indicate that the genus designation has changed from the original publication. What do you think the correct citation should be? doushantuo
err, i bow to superior knowledge. My bad. I used "advanced document search" in the original Schluter.and Mammites gave no return. Sorry for trying to correct the citation in the wrong manner. The original description is on page 19,and the specimens are figured on plate 8,for those who want to take a peek at the original description
