Generally, where was this found? 

 

It reminds me of rudist bearing limestone.

The tube like holes and curved linear segments are very typical of rudists found in that part of Texas.  They were strange bivalves.  :)

It looks like a bivalve steinkern...maybe Artica roemeri or a Liopistha sp.  They can be very common in the Glen Rose limestone around Canyon Lake.

I agree, rudists are very strange shells.:)

I also agree with the internal cast of a bivalve.:)
