Nice crinoid bits! :)

Mother Nature is definitely an artist. While not on quite as high a level, I encountered the same principle a year ago. In my case, I encountered a dead tree branch with an odd look to it where the bark had partially peeled off. I carefully peeled the rest off and this is what was revealed:

These look like old, weathered bark beetle feeding galleries to me. Knowing the tree species and location can help identify the specific beetle. Attached are some examples of galleries made by common bark beetles (taken from https://www.fs.fed.us/r3/resources/health/field-guide/bb/index.shtml).

This is just sweeeeet! I could make up all sorts of interesting stories about this one and I'm sure at least a dozen of them would include aliens.

Just saw this.

did anyone ever figure this one out ?

the swirls are crazy and look like the petroglyphs found out west.

If not a hoax should have a college look at it. Not Smithsonian but someone local.

this artifact could change timelines we know of possibly.

truly a find of a lifetime

any Aztec or Mayan culture experts on here looked at it ?

I disagree with separtatian structure also.

Bryan, if you read through the entire topic, more than ample evidence and research has been provided to explain the original piece as a counter septarian structure.  Skepticism is useful, but this one turned out to be another natural example of incredible beauty.

It is a counter-septarian structure. The original thought was that it was something man-made. It is geological in origin. A rare and interesting phenomenon.

I still think about this thread whenever I see dried cracked mud lifting up. Crazy that such a process could cause such beautiful patterns!

I said exactly the same thing you did when I first saw this thread and argued vehemently that it was a man-made artifact. Then I did some research (say Google) and found out I was wrong. This particular specimen that this thread is based upon is just amazing!
