Milli
Sorry, I couldn't load the photos and write about them in the same post. I have no idea what this is, but I'm hoping someone can enlighten me. Thanks!
tmaier
A cylindrical core with crystals growing on the outside. Calcite crystals? Something grown in a cave? The core might be limestone. I don't think it is a fossil. I can't see any diagnostic features that could be assigned to being from any life form.
JohnJ
"Dogtooth" calcite...no doubt. 1 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
fifbrindacier
I too see no fossil here, but it's a nice piece. "On ne voit bien que par le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." erose
Calcite crystals. The cylindrical form is interesting. There are faults that cut across the creek at various spots with associated calcite slickensides. But this looks different. BUT calcite is common all through out our Cretaceous carbonate strata.
