braat
I know zero about fossils and not much more about rocks... I found this while hunting for rocks to tumble and the more I look at it the more I'm wondering what it is ...the purple/brown thing sticking out of it caught my eye and so far I've resisted the urge to hammer it open to see what's inside Anybody got ideas what it is? I found it under a train bridge laying loose on the surface.
DPS Ammonite
It is a piece of conglomerate (rounded clasts cemented inside of a finer-grained rock), not a fossil. Sometimes conglomerates can be tumbled if all the parts are hard and silicified enough. My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.
