But I doubt if its real because of the price.. I assume that the jaw was found in Morocco, but it looks nothing like the common fakes. What is your opinion about the specimen? FossilDudeCO Posted December 7, 2016 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Bguild is on the right track. What we are looking for is if there is matrix between the tooth crowns and the jaw bone. Many of these specimens are compiled from pieces parts, so yes they are real teeth and bones, just not usually from the same individual mosasaur. Too me it looks as if the teeth MAY have been added. It is hard to tell from the pictures provided. They do this by mixing the matrix (rock the specimen is found in) with a glue and sticking them where they want them!
