This is fossil wood?

This is small piece ... 6 mm x 7 mm

Location: Górka Pychowicka , Kraków , Southern Poland

Age: Cretaceus?

I'm not seeing anything particularly wood-like about this piece.

If its not too small you might want to try polishing one of the ends smooth with some very fine sandpaper to see if you can see any textures using a magnifying glass. Could be just a rock, but sometimes a cross section or scope is the only way to see whats going on when things are that small, sometimes that's not even possible due to what tools you have.  

 

I was messing around with some small pieces of questionable stuff today and was interested to see some internal structure and color. I laid a piece of 400 grit sandpaper I had face up on the workbench and then lightly moved the piece around in circles until I had a smooth surface. Sometimes you need to start with something coarser to get a semi-flat surface and finish up with finer grit papers. I then wet it and then looked at it with a hand lens. My problem was then trying to get a closeup shot that was in focus of what I was looking at.
