Periodicity of mass extinctions

I was wondering: is there a consensus in the palaeontological community regarding  David Raup and Jack Sepkoski's claims to a periodicity of mass extinctions? Even if Nemesis has been pretty much refuted, I haven't found any definitive disproof of the supposed signal in the noise. Some say absolutely not, some say certainly. I don't know who to believe. And I'm making a video on the topic, so I kinda need to draw a conclusion. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

There is a definite cycle of mass extinctions in the fossil records. What is the cause? I do not believe that anyone knows, We will just have to wait for the next occurance to see.

We've talked about this before and maybe even before that.

The problem, as I noted in the thread, is that there really isn't an event that qualifies as a mass extinction during the whole Cenozoic Era.

I suggest you read this book:

Great book.
