Not sure if it is a fossil, but really want to identify it. Tried some forums before, and thinking of taking it to get checked out. Thanks for looking.

I do not see a fossil. 

I think it is a agate replacement of a mineral such as tremolite..

Very nice example of a pseudomorph. (Where one mineral replaces another.

PS It kind of looks like coral, but it is missing the detail of a coral.

I was thinking coral at first but I agree it's likely a mineral, as Tony and others have suggested.

I think Stilbite might be a good possibility, though I'm only going by what I've seen on internet searches:

 

New Jersey Red Stilbite (search):    link          One of these images looks very much like yours, but I can't testify to the accuracy of the ID.

That's also what i thought in the first place, but when i looked more closely i wasn't so sure.
