A winter fossil trip with a blow out tide that started slow but ended with finding one of my best fossil Mako teeth yet!

Small video of the action including other Miocene finds from the bay in Maryland.

Merry Christmas to all and happy hunting!

Excellent, very entertaining video. Congratulations. Great finds too, especially that monster Mako and the perfect sand tiger. I count that as a very worthwhile day. Inspired me to go back- in the spring.

I actually saw your video on youtube the day you posted it and it made me sooooo mad at myself that i didn't take advantage of the crazy low tides in the area! Great Mako! Also i love your fossil videos, wish you would make more of them.

Thanks all!  It's a shade over 2.5"...for my Maryland beaches it's a big one.  I have found bigger but from a North Carolina mine.

Heck.  2.5" is good for just about anywhere.  I'm always happy to find one.  And on the BEACH!!!!!  Whaaaaat?

Yeah.  That must have been amazing.  I'd have filled my shorts.

I love the moment in the video where you pull on the root and about half the beach comes up with it.  It's that moment where you go from, "This could be good," to "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Gread video.  Thanks for sharing.

  • 1 month later...

Neat seeing that tooth being picked up. Theres something about that moment and its memory that keeps us coming back even on those not so good days. Regards, Chris
