Looks more like a mineral, such as Quartzite or calcite to me.

I am not seeing tooth enamel.

I agree. The piece you are holding has small different colored pebbles in it. This is what's called a conglomerate. The item you are questioning to be a tooth, is most likely one of these pebbles or minerals.

I agree that it is an odd shaped pebble, not a tooth. But I would not call it a crystal either.

The first image looks calcitic or quartz-ish to me. ;)

It may be a calcite or quartz,  but it is a tumbled pebble, at best it is crystalline, not "crystal".

In order for a rock to be considered a crystal it has to have a defined geometric shape and molecular structure. Quartz is hexagonal and Calcite is rhombohedral.

Calcite is soft and has 3 perfect cleavage planes, does not tumble well. Quartz is hard and has no cleavage planes.

I say the odds are in favor of it being a quartz mineral.

I never said it was crystal, though. :headscratch:  :P

But Tony, thanks for explaining that to me. I appreciate it.

I am not much into minerals and what I consider to be "regular rocks".

It's good to know differences. :)
