Jocassee Tiger
We were in DC for the weekend so we decided to hit Calvert Cliffs on Monday. I had read a little about some of the higher percentage places so that seemed like a good start. When we arrived, it was 35 degrees and a 15 mph wind so it was a little chilly. I was really excited to see that a great deal of material had fallen from the cliffs so I thought I may be able to find my first tooth from its original resting place. After a lot of unsuccessful digging, we eventually fell back into old habits of just looking on the ground. It started off slow with just a few really small teeth but the further from the parking we got, the better the teeth were. We capped it off with our first ever cow sharks tooth! I always expected these to be fairly small but this one was around an inch long. Unfortunatly, the cliffs are about 6 hours away so it may be a little while until we get back that way. Darktooth
Nice finds for a first trip! I live in Syracuse N Y. and it is a 6 hr trip for me as well. But I try to go down there a couple times a year. I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Sacha
"it was 35 degrees and a 15 mph wind so it was a little chilly." Wow! This is a tough statement for a Florida guy to wrap his mind around. I wasn't sure I should go to the Santa Fe this coming Thursday because it was going to be 44 in the morning and only warm up to 75 degrees! BRRRRRRRRR. Max-fossils
Wow, that's really amazing for a first trip! Congrats!!! I must say, I am very jealous of that cowshark . I'm still looking for a nice one myself here in the Netherlands... Do you know though whether your tooth is a Hexanchus or a Notorhynchus? Or perhaps another species? Anyways congrats again on the finds, Max Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil.
