Bison Astragalus?

Hello all,

This specimen was found in a creek that cuts through Miocene through Pleistocene fossiliferous exposures. Being found in a creek, I cannot rule out this being a modern critter (unless it is indeed bison of course). I know that this specimen is an astragalus, and I think it is from one of the right legs. I see resemblance with bison astragali, but I don't know.

Thanks for the help

Whose astragalus??

Bison priscus (BOJANUS, 1827) astragali (Europe), for comparison :

That definitely looks like it. Is there anything that could distinguish this being from a modern cow?

Here is a side photo.

So would I be correct labelling this as Pleistocene Bison?

I certainly don't know the age of the bone.  I think we should defer to someone who has identification criteria and who has the actual bone.
