Name the trilobite

I recently bought this trilobite fossil at a christmas market in Zurich.

Could anyone name it fully, order and maybe time period?

I'm just a curious amateur btw.

Hello, and Welcome to the Forum.

What is the size of the trilobite?

My first thought was that it is a Gerastos granulosus, from the Devonian of Morocco.

Wait for some other opinions, though.

Regards,

EDIT: Found this paper online - might be worth a read - check page 39 - LINK

Maybe  Diademaproetus praecursor???

Gerastos granulosus is not a valid species in Morocco.

G. tuberculatus marocensis is the most common species.

This chart shows the different species of Moroccan Gerastos.

Thanks for the info, Scott.

In doing some Googling, I was starting to come to the conclusion that  Gerastos granulosus was not a valid species for Morocco.

Another commonly misused name by vendors?

The name was originally used by Alberti 1970.  He designated three species as: 'A', 'B', 'C',  aff. granulosus

To me it looks like a beat up Diademaproetus praecursor. The genal spines seem to be mostly worn/prepped away. At the very least you can say it belongs to the Proetida order.
