Hengybear
Found this in a river a few years ago, and liked to believe it is a tooth. However unsure of true identification, and its very possible its just a stone. The base however looks similar to how a tooth does below the gum line, with pronounced difference in textures, which has led meto belive it maybe more than a rock. Please help. I can supply better images if needed.
ynot
Can You post pictures of the sides and back? Does not look quite right for a tooth, but other pictures may tell a different story. Vieira
I think it's just a stone. If you can, put pictures of more angles...
Fossildude19
No tooth there. There is no enamel or root/bone textures. It is a suggestively shaped rock. Mother nature is a joker, I think. ynot
I agree with Tim (Fossildude19), it is not a tooth. Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Hengybear
I thought that it was probably just wishful thinking. Thanks for the information!

Nature likes to try and fool People with all sorts of odd shaped rocks. There are a lot of threads here that are just suggestive rocks, and We have all picked them up at one time or another. Yours is a nice "tooth" (or claw) imitation. Do some research on the geology of Your area and look for the type of fossils found in the area. This will help You to find and recognize what is a fossil. Good luck on the hunt! Tony Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." abyssunder
I agree with the others. It is a suggestively shaped rock, as Tim said, like the one from my avatar. Ramon
It's either a bone or more possibly a stone that was eroded by water. Don't worry I always misidentify stuff it happens to everyone.
