The Winner of the December 2016 Vertebrate Find Of The Month is the partial Chiroptera (bat) dentary from the Late Pleistocene of Florida, U.S.A.!  Congratulations to Julianna (old bones) on her first win in the contest and another of her exquisite, tiny discoveries!!!   :yay-smiley-1:

Sorry to say just in a word : Congratulations! :)

(I've spend one night with bats in (then accessible tower chamber) of the medieval Soimos Castle from Romania , and I was impressed by their calm nocturnal activity and relationship with humans. Probably they don't count our presence in their habitat.)

The lights came back on...  and the HEAT! Lol.

Thank you all so much. I really am quite amazed that the tiny bat jaw won given the fantastic competition this month.  It is wonderful to have my micro fossil represented in the illustrious collection of VFOTM winners.  I am very proud to have that badge beneath my avatar.  :D

Congrats Julianna ! I love your micro-fossil plates and I always thought that bats had to have very attractive teeth ! Now I am sure ! ;)

Thanks, Coco. :)  You would not believe how many individual bat teeth I've found in this 'Frog Toe' matrix. This was the first jawbone with teeth.
