Would a business in restoring teeth and other similar fossils via mailing them in and then mailed back be a good profitable business?

I was thinking of starting a side business of helping collectors by restoring teeth, claws, and alike. would anyone trust a business like this? I have had a bit of experience restoring mosasaur, horse, and spinosaurus teeth previously. Is this enough to even start a small business?

Welcome to the Forum. :)

Tooth restoration is a very small niche enterprise, and I'm not sure it would be feasible as a business,... other than a sideline business.

I wouldn't quit my day job hoping to launch a tooth restoration business.

I think this is the kind of thing that requires years of doing it on the side, for little money,... gaining experience over time, and growing your "business" by word of mouth.

Some people make a living doing that,  combined with fossil prep.,  and fossil sales as well, ... but I am not sure how good of a living they make.

Good luck.

Regards,

EDIT: Also, not sure how profitable it would be - as you would need to charge for materials,  and time spent doing the restoration/prep, and for shipping back to the client.

Seems like it would be a very tough business to break into. Many people here on the Forum learn to do their own work, ... or exchange fossils for preparation services from another member.  Something to keep in mind.

Thanks fossildude19 for your input. this would only be a fun little way to help people and do a bit of my passions. (this would just give me some money to buy more fossils since a part-time job just doesn't cut it anymore)

I'm also a part time freelance preparator.

if you only want to find your vices, you can make a go of it. large contracts do come along that yield a good profit but they are few and far between.
