Tooth identification- cow?

Hi, 

 

Can someone help identify this tooth? Is it just from a cow? It is from a creek in the St Louis, MO area. I've had it since I was a kid and have always wondered what it is. Appreciate the feedback!

It is an upper cheek tooth of a horse, not a cow.
