Cam28
Found yesterday. All I know is it's from a mammal. 2 cm wide x almost 2 cm tall
PaleoRon
Might be a loph from a mastodon tooth. You might want to post a pic of the "top".
Harry Pristis
I agree with Ron . . . Mammut milk tooth loph. 3 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Cam28
Wow first proboscidean tooth, would not have bet on that. Also found my largest G. cuvier (modern tiger shark) tooth to date, little over an inch. Not too much else (but I'll take quality over quantity any day), great day & great finds hunting with a couple near & dear novices. Here's the chewing surface, if it isn't mastodon definitely shout it out
Harry Pristis
That's the pulp cavity . . . the tooth interior. The root is broken away, as is common. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
