Texas creek find. Bone ID?

On a recent road trip we were given land owner permission to hunt the portion of Brushy Creek that crossed his property. We found lots of small pieces of pet wood and a few devils toenails but also a badly broken piece of bone. I was wondering if anyone could ID what it might be. It looks very old but isn't petrified.

Might be part of a sacrum.

That's what I think too. Can't think of another bone works foramen (hole) like that.

Heres a cow sacrum to compare with.image.jpeg

How do you know that it's not petrified?

Keep looking! They're everywhere!

The bone material has not been replaced with rock.

It could be Pleistocene sub-fossil bone. Much of the Late Pleistocene stuff I see is not fully mineralized.
