Hmmmm... that is a reputable source.  I wonder if plesiosaurs do have a different vertebral nomenclature than the rest of the vertebrate world.

Have you compared with marine mammals ?

Although plesiosaurus has been found in the North Sea, heavily mineralised cetacean fossils are more commonly found.

I'm not saying this is cetacean, but just suggesting a possibility.
