Max-fossils
Hi all, Same as the other one (North Sea; Pleistocene). I'm thinking piece of antler of a deer (Megaloceras?). LordTrilobite
It's definitely a piece of bone. I don't think it's antler. What I think you have is a lateral process of a lumbar vertebra. 2 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

LordTrilobite
Might be. There's quite a lot of reference on North Sea mammals on the internet so I would just start to look at every lumbar vertebra I can find. I have woolly rhino and bison lumbar vertebra in my collection. But those are hidden away in boxes at the moment. 1 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

I have a PDF document that will surely be useful, but unfortunately it's 205 MB large. So here's a link. Click on the second link to have the full PDF document. (It's called: Atlas Osteologique des Mammiferes - Les membres - Herbivores). http://hybodus.free.fr/osteologie_mammif/ Max Derème "I feel an echo of the lightning each time I find a fossil.
