Last month i visited many fossil museums "in my area". The weather was too bad to collect myself and as you may know the quarry Kromer is closed during winter :(

So i will show you some pictures of the fossils in the Museum of natural history in Basel (Switzerland) ...

There you are also other nice exhibits besides of the fossils !

Its a great and detailed museum !

cool...  I have been to Switzerland a bunch... very close to Basel, but have never been to this  museum.  It is now on the list.  The museum in Porrentruy also has very nice paleo displays.  Maybe a half hour or more form Basel.

Good stuff.  That sabretooh cat is awesome.

In the early 1970s I lived 3 years along the Rhine on the French/German border just north of Basel. Most of my collecting was for invertebrates...especially ammonites.  Being a teen boy, the vertebrates I was preoccupied with were teen girls.
