Ajlewis
Hello. I know almost nothing about fossils. I found this in Nashville, Tennessee. I left it where I found it, but if I recall correctly it was about a foot long. I looked online to see what other similar fossils were found here but didn't see one like this. Any help? Darktooth
A foot long!? I would of kept it just because of the size! I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

It was most probably a cephalopod that died, and while it was in rock the chambers got filled up with calcite minerals. Then the rock split open, splitting the cephalopod and revealing the internal chambers. Cool find! You might want to keep it as decoration! By the way, welcome to The Fossil Forum!
